Ani Sophia | Buddhist Nun
Ani Sophia is a Buddhist nun in the Tibetan Kagyu lineage. She is a qualified Counsellor which brings a deeper understanding to her work as a meditation teacher. She has completed two Meditation Teacher Training Programs, one with esteemed teachers Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach (MMTCP) - both also Psychologists and Tibetan Monk and International Teacher Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche (MTP). She is a trauma-informed meditation teacher. She has also practiced in the Zen and Insight traditions. She will always also be a student and is currently deepening her understanding in Buddhist Psychology, Philosophy and Practice through the Tergar Institute, Osel Ling Monastery, Nepal.
Ani Sophia has been meditating daily since her early twenties and spent many years living, working and practicing in Nepal. Here she was fortunate enough to come into contact with Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche. After meeting him, whilst it wasn't fireworks, everything changed and she ordained as a nun.
She offers Introductory Mindfulness and Meditation Workshops in the local community and in schools, weekly classes, personalised 1:1 meditation support, social prescribing meditation sessions and retreats.
